Road Trip Art Adventure

Apologies on the sabbatical, but I am back! Wall Decor licensing required research time to decide whether to accept a contract offer. Legal counsel won out, as it was too restrictive during and after the designated timeframe. It is difficult not to jump for joy over high-end retailers, but a fair and balanced calculated risk assessment remains the mandate.

What does one do when a blast of energy and newfound inspiration is in order? Road trip. We drove to Las Vegas for a two-day blitz. The Peter LIK Galleries in the Venetian and at Caesar's Palace were first on the list. Standing before the mammoth Fine art photographic creations was the perfect elixir. It was particularly noteworthy to hear the Gallery Reps discuss the blind judging process for PPA International Photographic Awards. They were as proud of Lik's Merit Awards, as am I, of my hard-won Merits. A humbling experience. I have the highest regard for those who choose to chase beauty and light in the world we live in.

The Rotella Gallery at the Forum Shops at Caesars was next up for revered magical moments. I wanted to view the work of Seattle's Art Wolfe, who I have followed for so long. Magnificent! The Gallery offered an introduction to the photography of Robert Rotella, David Yarrow and Michael Levin. It would be an understatement to say that I was in composition and color heaven. The adventurer's spirit was overwhelmed by Landscape, Nature, Wildlife and Human Canvas collections. A favorite moment was to sit before Wolfe's 'Power and Grace' homage to the White Carmargue Horses of France.

Dale Chihuly, the adored glass artist and sculptor was presenting a book signing under his fantastical 'Fiori di Como' ceiling installation at the Bellagio. What a perfect finale to a rejuvenating art adventure road trip!

Wishing you a Happy Merry Christmas with a December 'Water Lily'.
